High Oxygen atmosphere preference.

Human could probably exhaust one in a thinner atmosphere. Especially if you lead them up in to the mountains.

Going off basic estimates, in earth’s atmosphere humans would likely out perform them aerobically as the partial pressure of oxygen we need, 20.9kpa, is lower than their preferred atmosphere, which has a partial pressure of oxygen of 28.6kpa. However, the ref sheet mentions they are quite strong so they may be able to out perform us by reducing how much of their strength they're using (in the process likely making their strength more on par with ours). However, humans are able to perform physically strenuous activities such as mountain climbing with partial pressures of oxygen alot lower than were used to, so it may be more evenly matched than you’d think, especially if the Lio has time to properly acclimate. So they may get exhausted, but it would take more to exhaust them than you’d think.

Nope! I have a couple rough ideas of what they are--She Who Was Consumed, for instance, is a prophet who defied the laws of the gods in order to do good in the world and was punished for it by her kind.

Thanks! Is She Who Was Consumed worshiped per se, or reversed in some way, by the Lio? Also, I wonder if there's some concession made for Lio whose manes are cut against their will. The little guy shown here looks like he's trying a new fashion (and realizing it wasn't worth it).

There's some concession for having one's mane cut against their will but the entire purpose of that would be to humiliate; basically you'd have to explain to all passers-by "no it was these jerks who did it" and it'd still make them uncomfortable and would be uncouth to appear before anyone important without it.

I actually have no intention of resolving the war in the series. For my purposes it's just a backdrop.

If we judge them as evil for those acts, then we must similtaniously assess humanity as a whole as evil.

While it is true some Lio experiemnt on Mysa, we can not judge the species as a whole based on the actions of those few.
