So, I was inspired by coffee on this chilly fall day, and then lo! sat my coffee cup upon my desk ... and I was inspired!
Behold, the coffee cup my boyfriend bought me, and it's holiday awesomeness! I'll prolly use it year-round, at least until I'm captured by a different cup. (I'm a bit of a coffee wh*re and I love neat designs that speak to me!)
Screw the haters that forget this month's challenge is about community and becoming better from practicing every day, for cereals. Is this supposed to be realism? Heck, no ... it's just my drawing of a coffee cup in my style, which will only get better using the awesomely random prompts on my list, encouraging me to get out of the rut of drawing same-old, samle-old.
I know I said that personally I wasn't gonna use references, but I kinda had to with the text on the mug, which I DID also make a little different so it would fit on the tall mug I'd already done ... and -not- looking at my actual reference, which was literally right next to me. Solution? For sketching the mug itself, I popped the lid on (it has one of those rubber rings inside to keep it nice and tight inside the ceramic) and tucked it between my legs while I fiddled about with the original shape of the mug itself.
Anyways, this was actually kinda fun, and something I might have to do more often. Maybe stuff like this is what will inspire me to really get active on Twitter... in fact, I should go post these there! I'm really bad about Tweeting, but this month could change that too!
If you would be interested in following me there, It's super simple! Just umberleartz and voila! As I post this, I have like 3 followers, but you could help change all that! Help me learn The Twitter! (Is it really lame that at 34, I'm mostly clueless about Twitter? No, no, I think not. I only even have a Twitter because of furry art! ... Wait, did that just confirm how lame I am? Lame...)
Well, hope you enjoy my submission turned about-to-copy-to-journal!
