How Do You Solve a Problem Like Spangle (Part 14)
Sorry I skipped a day. Saw a really neat seminar at my local library about the final days of Edgar Allen Poe last night and didn't get around to making a comic.

I am entirely serious when I say the following: you could compile all the Electra comics in a single volume - even without adding a single new comic - and I would snap it up for my coffee table at once. And if you don't I might just go ahead and print them all off and stick them in a binder so I can pretend I have a coffee table volume of Electra anyway
Looks like Ezra has hit the mood swings already

And since you brought up Edgar Allan Poe, did you here about this?
Edgar Allan Poe finally getting proper funeral -- only 200 years later

But he's a seahorse, of course, surely he knows
When you're a seahorse, of course, that's how it goes

So, here's something I find interesting.
The female seahorse still technically lays the eggs - the male fertilizes them similar to how a fish would (she squirts eggs into his pouch through her snout; the male egg pouch is also located in the snout and he fertilizes them), and the male later "gives birth."
That makes imagining what happened to get Ezra knocked up a lot more amusing.

Actually, the way seahorses in particular mate is more amusing.
The female sticks her "ovipositer" and secretes eggs into the male's "brood pouch", which is where he fertilizes them. A short while later the babies burst fourth in an explosive way (though it is not actually damaging), and he's ready to mate again in just a few short hours. :3

It was cool actually, because half way through I thought: "Hey, didn't this comic used to have backgrounds and now it's all just grey cards." But then of course I realised it was mostly just the texture that made me think the backgrounds had more details then there was actually. It was a neat trick.
