However, as one might expect, magus are of a different and abnormal breed who enjoy different and abnormal things. Following the path of hexes, one must become accustomed to pain, nightmares, and torture by default. At the upper echelons of power, these casters can not only control undead but become one themselves.

After countless years of practicing their craft, pain has become their greatest joy in life, and they torture one another as a way of bonding and showing love. Contrary to what one might expect, these overlords of death can be very jolly and friendly fellows, and make extremely good companions and guardians. Just remember to turn down their affections, if you don't know what you're getting into...

Alastor is one such overlord of death and guardian of the astral plane. He's known for his deep, bellowing laughs and parlor tricks where he juggles his own head. He's the unlife of every party.
