Kobolds ARE natural miners. Even Sapphire has experience with it.
So much so that she actually got a group of dwarves to absolutely adore her when she was between adventures. It was early on in her first campaign. She nailed her diplomacy check to the dwarf foreman to convince them that she was trustworthy in spite of being a kobold (and she was). Then she got a nat 20 on her skill check and two other super high rolls on the next two days. Basically, she made those dwarves a TON of money and I don't think they'll ever think ill of a kobold again. X3
