I'm really digging the difference in body language they have for this. Max's arm is visibly crossed over his front, closing him off, and his ears are down to imply he's not feeling secure. But the reverse is true for Michael. And the fact that Michael is both near him and in the same situation isn't enough to make Max feel more secure is telling.
