Finally, the next page! XP
I had a bit of an artblock with this one, I just couldn't get things to look like how I wanted to. So, I'm still not very happy with it. But I got it done, and now I can move on to the rest of the story. Not every page can be excellet I guess.
I'm also trying out a different style here too. Its taking a few hints from my "Double K" picture in my gallery, I realized I can't keep up a webcomic and an even more detailed fan comic thingy at the same time, so I simplified things a bit, especially with the coloring and shading. So things look a bit different, but hopefully that won't matter too much. It did cut down the time quite a bit, from 2 hours to just around 1 hour to do, so at least its paying off a bit!

I didn't say they weren't useful. I said they stink, which just means they don't have much practical application in battle (I'll make a concession on Cure spells, though).
A file with a warrior-spec Sora is a lot easier to complete than a file with a magic-spec Sora. Yes, it's a little more boring because of that ease, but the whole point is that this kid ain't gonna take much damage even if he's hit.

You've got a good point there, the magic in the games were, for the most part, rather useless. X3 This version of Forest specializes in magic though, which is why the explosion is so large in the last panel there! His spells have a bit more kick to them.
Not to mention, in the Kingdom Hearts manga (yes I read some of it) Sora actually beats one of the "bosses" from the game with a single spell. X3 So, outside of the "game" world or whatever, his magic is quite potent.
Also, Reflega (the shield spell or however its spelled) helped me win while fighting in Hades' Underworld tournaments, especially when you're fighting Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie and Leon all at once.

Okeydokey. I never read the manga, so I was going entirely on the games. Makes more sense now, as does your reasoning of FW being almost entirely magic-oriented. I think they ought to put a stat for magic damage just like they have for strength so the spells might actually be worth the MP they consume. :3
And...yeah. I guess the support spells that don't really do anything to the enemies have their merits. It's just that I'd pretty much never try killing anything with spells only, if I could help it. Against Cerberus in Hades's final tournament in KH2 I wound up using constant Thundaga spells and avoiding his long-range attacks because when I got up close he murdered me quicker than I could mete out damage. That was the only boss battle in which I used exclusively magic, and it took me about 45 minutes to beat him each time (I died after him more than once, of course).
Maybe that's why I'm so bitter about them. :3

You know, its been a while since I've played KH2, so I'm not sure what other places I used it in. I just remember using Reflega because it bounces some of the damage done to it back at the enemy, so I'd just have everyone in a crowd wailing on me while I spammed it, until the shield finally broke and it'd take out Yuffie or something, and I'd keep doing that until it was (usually) just me versus Cloud and maybe Leon if he lived that long. X3
Yeah, I can definitely see why you were bitter though. X3

Against those four (random anecdote warning), I just tended to run around in circles, get off an attack combo on the nearest one, run away again, and keep going until I wiped them out one-by-one. The only thing I ever had to worry about was Cloud's limit break because it was pretty much unavoidable, but of course it could be healed pretty easily.
And yep! 100% was -not- worth it. :3

I hate how that happens in games, where the different specializations of sorts end up being unbalanced. Some of the recent Star Wars games have been that way, and Kingdom Hearts suffered that too unfortunately. :(
That said, FIREEE, FIREEE, hehehe yeah that was cool. X3 I'm more a fan of Blizzaga myself though. At least from a Final Fantasy perspective. X3
