“You got any sevens?” asked Margaret. “Huh? What?” asked her friend, Gary. Margaret sighed. They had been playing Go Fish for an hour now and Gary still didn’t know how to play. This was getting on her nerves and Margaret’s patience had just about withered away. “Jesus Christ Gary, do you know how to play this game?”. She asked in annoyance.
Gary looked up blankly as if she had asked him how to solve general relativity. He quickly shaped out of his face and said “Sure.” Margaret looked back at her cards, not wanting to look at him. “Well then, why don’t you make your next draw?” she asked him sarcastically. Gary was not a stupid man, but cards were not his strength at all.
Margaret and Gary had been camping in the middle of the forest for the weekend as a way to get away from their jobs and their lives. They wanted to see some nature rather than the side of a building.
Margaret and Gary continued playing Go Fish when they heard something in the woods. Margaret looked up from her cards and looked into the thick brush. Gary noticed and looked up from his cards. “What?” he asked. “I think I heard something in the woods.” “What is it,”, Gary asked curiously. “I don’t know,” she answered.
Margaret got up and walked toward the thick brush. Inside the forest, it was dim, even on a clear summer day. A large number of trees block the Sun’s much-needed light, making the viability low. She looked deep into the brush and she saw the same thing, nothing but more forest. There didn’t seem to be a single creature within a mile radius. Margaret turned back around. “It’s okay. It must have just been a squirrel or someth-”, she started but Margaret stopped midway to see something that chilled her to the bone.
It was massive, absolutely massive. The anaconda had to be at least a couple hundred feet long, if not longer. Could a creature even get that large? Its massive green scales were wrapped around Gary’s body in a bone-crushing embrace. The giant snake’s scales were lined with green spots, each of them dotted with a smaller, yellow dot probably to resemble a flower.
The coils curled around the table and across the ground. The circled back and around into the forest. Margaret’s eyes followed the coil's around told they reached...behind her.
Margaret turned around and came face to face with the owner if the coils. The giant serpent’s eyes were a rich and vibrant amber, with two amber spots on the sides of its head to make the snake’s eyes stand out. The head of the serpent was easily as big as her body and snake had a calm, peaceful smile on her face.
Margaret was frozen in place. Time seemed to stop. Trillions of questions raced through her mind at once. Her legs were telling her to run as fast as she could, but she was fixed to her spot as if she was super glued to the ground. Finally, her instincts took over and they told her to do one thing. Scream as loud as she could.
As if the snake could read her movements before she even did them, Margaret felt intense pressure on her neck, preventing her from breathing. She quickly grabbed at her throat to feel what is preventing her from breathing, but her arms were suddenly pinned to her side. She tried to look down, but the snake’s coil’s prevented her from moving her head. By this time, Margaret was covered head to toe in soft, scally coils.
The massive snake’s head loomed over the two. Gary screamed, but his cry was muffled under a coil covering his mouth. The snake spoke to the pair if humans, “Well, what do we have here? What is a pair of human’s doing in my forest?” said the snake. Her feminine voice purred at them, her words melting into their minds like warm butter. Gary tried to answer, but the coil around his mouth wouldn’t budge. Margaret gasped for breath and was able to find just enough air to must the words she needed. “We...a-a-are on a c-c-amp-ping t-t-trip…” Margaret gasped.
The coil around Gary’s mouth loosened, allowing for him to speak. “We’re very sorry for intruding on your territory miss…” “Oh, where are my manners, my name is Inkanyamba.” said the serpent. “And you are?” The coil around Gary’s chest began to tighten, slowly making it harder to breathe. Every inhales felt shorting and harder. Gary struggled to get the words he needed to answer Inkanyamba’s question. “My name is G-Gary” he wheezed.
“And m-my name is M-M-Margaret.” she managed to wheeze with what little air Inkanyamba allowed into her lungs. “What nice names you both have. It is an honor to have you in my home.” Inkanyamba complemented. Gary tried to squirm and wiggle, hoping that the pressure around his chest and neck will release, but to no avail. Margaret saw this and decided to try going completely limp and relaxing her muscles, in hopes that the coils may loosen.
“Relax.” cooed the snake to the humans. “You can’t escape my grasp.” Gary was shaken to his core with fear. His instincts took over and he did everything he could to move around and push away her coils. It did nothing but please the mighty serpent. Inkanyamba leaned her head down and licked Gary’s cheek, almost tasting the fear radiating off.
The snake then faced the male human and opened her maw wide and gapping. Her mouth was giant, big enough to engulf his entire body and still have tons of room. Inkanyamba then gently placed Gary’s head inside her mouth, her tongue gently smothering his face like an owner pets a puppy.
She slowly loosened her grip around Gary’s shoulders and began to push more of Gary’s body into her mouth. Slowly, but surely Inkanyamba slowly began to consume her prey. Gary screamed and wiggled around in her mouth, but his struggles were useless. Her mouth muscles were way too strong. After within about a minute, half of Gary’s body was already down the throat of the serpent.
Once Inkanyamba reached the human's hips, she lifted him up to allow gravity to assist her. Gary’s legs soon disappeared and before long, only his squirming feet were exposed. Inkanyamba gave the legs one last lick before she closed her maw and sent the human down to her waiting stomach. The mighty serpent licked her lips, still tasting Gary on her lips. She smiled and savored the taste for a little while.
Margaret could only watch helplessly as her best friend was slowly eaten before her eyes, knowing in only a moment she would be next. Inkanyamba turned over to Margaret and gave her a predatory smile as she moved her maw over to the side of her face. Her hot, odorless breath washed over Margaret’s face, making her squirm. The mighty serpent whispered in her ear, “Now, it's your turn…”
Moments later, these two humans were nothing but squirming bulges inside of Inkanyamba’s stomach. Inkanyamba looked up at the sky, seeing that the Sun was setting. She decided to take a rest and let her two guest’s stew for a little while. She slithered up into a tree and looked out over her majestic forest. As Inkanyamba looked out, a wave of sleepiness washed over her. She rested her head on the two bulges, now slightly smaller than before. “Goodnight little morsel’s. Sleep tight!”.
The next day, Inkanyamba woke up and looked up at the horizon. The warm Sun rose over the rolling hills, covered in trees. She looked down at her coils, more specifically her stomach. The humans had disappeared completely. Only the empty campground was left of Margaret and Gary. Inkanyamba sighed, knowing that they had added another layer to her massive coils.
Inkanyamba looked down at the campsite from her tree to see a larger group of people looking for Margaret and Gary, most likely their friends. “Looks like breakfast is served…” Inkanyamba said, licked her lips as more humans lined up to fill her waiting belly...
