Urgent Pet Commission YCHS! (CLOSED thank you!)
Hey everyone!
Doing some quick YCHS so I can afford some things for my goldfish tank ASAP. Ive got a bad infestation of fish lice and I need to take care of it as soon as possible, which includes upgrading the tank size, buying all new substrate, and back up treatments. Poor guys keep getting lice on em and current treatments arent doing much, Im honestly worried if I cant take care of it soon they might get secondary conditions as well.
I'll be completing 6 slots of these & jumping right back into regular comm work!

Don't change tanks asap. Go go straight bare bottom on your current tank and remove and sanitize all current decorations with boiling water. Ick starts in the substrate as a type of pore that bursts into the water, latches onto the fish, festers, falls off, and repeats the process. It is notorious for also going from tank to tank. Set up a new tank with all new materials, I mean ALL NEW, and use the old one for quarantine until the new one is set up. This is the only way to insure you don't just drag everything into the new tank and continue the process of hell.
Ah yeah I know how to treat ich, this is argulus lice though! Theyre slightly different. I'll just need to deep clean the tank & hardcore disinfect their decor to kill off any eggs and juveniles, then preform some good ol Fish Surgery to remove the current lice. They'll go in a quarantine for a bit for follow up treatment then go in the new tank
