The Battle for Shipwreck Island! by Kurama-chan!
**Giggles!**
Thanks for Being patient with me. I'm still in the process of posting stuff here, whether it be my work or commissioned works ...
Back during the hurricane Irma, I found myself with a few days of downtime while the Firm was shut down and people were leaving the area. Once again, I stayed because I thought I had the course of the hurricane figured out, thanks to all of the lessons of tracking and also some insight from my Pop, who used to track these dangerous storms when he was a pilot for the Navy. Granted, it was a stressful time for me in the fact that I was prepping the Firm for weathering the storm, even a category 1 was going to be hard felt even this far inland. Luckily for me, I only lost power for a few hours and the internet for a day. During the time, I had been doing some RPing on F-List or what I call The List, talking about the Elastic Cats doing their super heroic duty in protecting Crossroads and the various barrier islands that also make up the coast of Georgia.
One of the moments of the RP story was Ricochet KaBoom! talking about shoring up one of the outer islands, a place called Shipwreck Island, a place where many sailing vessels have wrecked into the various reefs and sandbars that make up the area. While all sorts of things like concrete barricades, trenches, old cars, and steel girders, stuff that would hopefully strengthen the area, a half dozen of toxic waste barrels had been unearthed or perhaps washed up on the shores during the onset of the storm, causing the local patch of stone crab that we have in these waters to mutate. That quickly escalated into a terrible fight between the Elastic Cats and several mutated warriors, bent on defending their newfound kingdom. With the first round going to the mutant stone crabs, Ricochet went back to the lab and worked up an antidote to restore the crabs back to their original form, though promising one of the warriors who the PlastiCat fought to a stand-still ... something about the toxic mutagen causing the PlastiCat to loose some of her powers ... to find out who caused this and to prevent it from happening again.
It was a really fun RP to do and the people of the List, including a few of my friends were very happy to go along with this RP. Hopefully as time rolls on, I will incorporate this into the story of Stretching Things ...
Special thanks to not only Kecomaster, but Kurama-chan as well who have helped keep me dreaming ...
