Inktober Challenge Day 7;
I got tired of using pen & ink like I am supposed to (crosshatching, pointillism, etc) & getting mixed results. So, I fell back on my painter's instincts & used the ink like watercolors. The scanner did not catch all the nuance of this piece. Yes, I am 3 days behind.
Media: Ink on watercolor paper;
Time: 1 hr 10 min.
Size: 6” x 8”

And I apologize if that came off as snobby. It was not meant to be.
I am not allowing MYSELF to use anything but ink and ink products for these Inktober challenges. I have been very tempted to break down watercolors in to ink-like fluids and use them. I have not used my markers, my microns, and my inkwell very much in the last 10 years. It has been a tough challenge for me thus far. I have forgotten much about how to use inks effectively or efficiently.
Again, thank you *Grin*

Oh no problem, I misread the description as I was still in awe for the picture. X-D I wish I was quick and consistent enough to join challenges like Inktober too as they look great fun and produce a lot of good art and interesting experiments. I'm way too slow though, I'd end up doing nothing else in the month. But in the future I hope to get my stuff together enough to be up to the task.
This is really impressive, you got the lighting here pretty well and set these woods in a enjoyable mood. I also enjoy the details of the smaller plants, it's a nice contrast to the more blurry tree leaves in the background. Both in combination are a really well designed forest scenery with a great atmosphere. Good work!
