There are several types of Sapient Whales on the islands, Some entirely indistinguishable from their feral counterparts, Some with legs that can walk on land for extended periods. Same goes for all porpoises. They serve a number of roles in border control and entertainment. Some for example deeply enjoy putting on shows for Island natives who want to go whale watching.

Fun story; I was pulling security duty in Washington, and we escorted one of the subs out to do their shakedown. While we waited for them to surface, I went out onto the back of our 20 foot launch to look around and a killer whale's fin broke the water about 10-15 feet away from us. It was an amazing sight, but the top of the fin was about 4 feet tall, and had about another 2 feet flopped over...
