We give people what they need.
There is no black and white, only shades of gray - and no show exemplifies this better than Dollhouse!
I often find the employees of Dollhouse to be more intriguing than the dolls themselves, especially Adelle DeWitt, Topher Brink, Claire Saunders and Boyd Langton. And out of those four, Adelle and Topher genuinely believe that what they're doing is helping people, giving them what they "need". They're the "bad guys" and as we saw in Epitaph One they may be pretty directly responsible for the end of society as we know it (Topher especially, since he invented a lot of the tech involved) but with the very best of intentions... and the knowledge of what they've allowed to happen crushes them. So here they are with their number one active and the main character of the show, Echo.
I love the moral ambiguity of it all. This is truly the smartest show people aren't watching - if you haven't done so already, do! You can catch it free online at Hulu.com and Fox.com. The last episode, "Belle Chose" was kind of a stand alone and a good place to start with the show if you just want to jump right in and aren't worried about spoiling yourself for what already happened. If you want to start from the beginning, you can get the first season off iTunes for pretty cheap. It's worth it, I promise. :D

Drew this up as part of the fan campaign to save Dollhouse from cancellation. Besides this, this past week I have I spammed the internet like no other, photoshopped together lots of advert banners for Google ads and set up a communal Dollhouse graphics pool in which folks can dump their advertisement graphics for other fans to pick up and use. The pool is here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/dollhousepool/pool/
Durrr. Okay, sleep time now. Tomorrow, much more homework and commissions have to happen.
