The only thing you might want to be careful with next time is the background. The roughness does no good here. But it can easily be smoothed out by coloring on a soft surface (such as a magazine or a stack of papers.)
Actually--I just thought of this-- something you try sometime is making textured backgrounds by coloring on a rough surface but disperse the roughness through out patches of smooth background. Just something you could try sometime. :D

yea i know...i was just being really slack. id spent WAY too long on the actual dragon that by the time i got round to doing some kind of background i just wanted it to be finished so i was being lazy and did it in like 5 mins :P (took several...coats to get a strong colour)
