its time for a story
a long time ago when snacks journal just started there were divisive design choices that had to be made
most notably the designs of our two main characters Snack and Talia and thats what I want to share with you now
when snacks journal was first concieved Talia was always going to be a cat but, what kind was up for debate but I eventually landed on a persian cat (I enjoyed the fluffyness)
3 factors however changed this:
1 was the character looked too similar in my opinion to the character Sawyer from Cats Don't Dance, and so she was made larger and I even added a mohawk, but the design never felt right after those changes,, but I still liked those elements of the design so much, that thats all that carried over into the new design
2 The same trouble I had wtih Snacks' design affected Talias design, it became difficult to replicate over and over in particular the fluffyness I wanted in the design, it was exhausting and so the decision was made to change it to something more managable and easier
3 this reason was Snack, at this point Snacks' design was now a mouse, and shared the exact same colour scheme and this was something that needed to change in order for the 2 characters to have contrast and to be able read well in colour in various angles, with the same colour the chance of someone getting confused about where the character was too high for me
and so Talia was changed to a sphynx cat and I much prefer the sphynx design to the persian but I may bring the persian design back as a side character one day

After the first design comparison I was afraid that Talia would be changed too. While I like both designs for Snack, the one you ended up using for Talia, I think, is superior. Definitely has more character to it in my eyes. Of course it would be your choice either way, but I thought I'd share my opinion! Will the design change basically be a retcon?
