Just a little poem about Halloween. I should do more of them considering this is my favorite time of year. But this was back when I was writing more poetry than stories but it's still good. I like it at least.

That and we all wear masks to hide ourselves from others and sometimes even ourselves. I use masks and costumes as metaphors for the public face we put on every day so we can interact with others in a semi-social manner. Some costumes are more obvious than others. The suit that says power and authority is really just an expensive costume meant for daily use. The uniform of the minimum wage slave is very obviously a kind of costume and those that work those jobs really do put on a mask so they can deal with John Q. Public and collect a paycheck at the end of the week. Many furs think our personae is our true selves, the monster within that we can only let loose at certain times a year.
