Why do you not like them? I mean, they are built well, mechanically reliable, ride nicely, well, ok, older ones were bricks on wheels, but still.

WEll, it's hard to explain. Wait, no it isn't. If a person owns a volvo, that person is seen as a typical swede (if it's a swede from the beginning). And the status "typical swedes"... it's just not good, really. YOu can look up the laws of Jante if you want, that is what a real, genuine swede follows by, even if he/she doesn't know it. Gray, dull, have to self-esteemand can't see a value in themselves. Owning a volvo gives you that status in sweden. That's why :P

I don't know if you noticed, but I live in England, and as does our car. It's not about what OTHER people view you as, it is more about how the car makes ME feel. And I love that car.

And as I said, everyone are entitled to think whatever they want :P That's how You take it, I take it the other way ^^ Yay, both happy :P

our V70 from 1998 has about 330,000 km
unfortunately thats the reason my parents bought a new car today: the new V70
oh well, thats a nice car too although i prefer the old volvo's

I'm fond of the new V70, it's a VERY comfortable car. Currently we have 5 cars: a '87 Volvo 240 GLT estate, a '10 Renault Laguna sports tourer, a '99 Mercedes C230 Kompressor, a '06 VW Polo and a '89 VW Golf GTI.

2 more years and you dont have to pay taxes for the volvo anymore
