Flashback: "You know. It's funny really.
As much as I indulge myself in my marvelous scientific advancements, it's odd to think I'm the closest thing to a father figure you have and will probably ever be graced of getting.
Heheheheeee.
Now time to give a good example. Now, be a good child and stand still on that table. Daddy's experiment's about to start~"

Yanuna doesn't have anything to hold on to when it comes to self control. In fact him lashing out got him out of a rough situation in the first place. If he doesn't stop now he will end up in a place far worse then he expects, and it wouldn't be in a lab. It would be in his own head telling himself that this is the right course of action.
THIS IS GETTING WORSE WITH EVERY PICTURE D: The worst part is that Yanuna isn't a bad person. He knows that what he's doing is wrong, but he's too consumed to back down now. It works, he's getting that rush he was craving, but the come down is going to bite him in the ass hard. At this point I'm not even sure he's going to survive it.

It sounds horrible because it is ! Pent-up anger turning to self-loathing breeds sadomasochism and suicide risks, among other nasty mental illnesses. Therapy literally saves lives.
... Or are you talking about him having daddy issues ? Because come on ! :p Out of nearly two years of constant tortures, the first thing he has a flashback of is this particular speech ? I don't think the scientist was con-stant-ly bragging about being his father, so it seems more plausible that he stroke a chord in Yanuna with that, putting into words something he was already wrestling with.

You know as cruel as this is I can definitely understand him wanting to get revenge for all that he's been put through.
The scientist might be gone but the pain he inflicted and the memories it left might never leave...
And it probably is for the best that he get this rage and need for vengeance out of his system so he can be ready to build bridges instead of walls..
(also this is a really [sorry I don't know what the right word is^^;] story, I can't stop reading it and I look forward to seeing more)
