Pi uses python. Rendering the eyes takes quite a lot of computing power.

The mechanical (servo) eyelids would look the best. It makes the blinking animation by physically moving the eyelids. I might make my next fursuit with mechanical eyelids :D

yeah I plan to try that out myself on a bird since they usually have much bigger eyes. My last attempt at articulated eyes worked out but I'm thinking just sewing the fabric to the wire lid may be better than gluing everything

Sewing is prefered, it gives better flexibility when the eye moves.
