I am a relic. A warrior who defends those whom I deem worthy to call “friend.” When my father passed away, I was consumed by a feeling of nothing. A void. A darkness that I would never wish upon my worst enemies. For more than 400 people, I stood stalwart and strong, baring the mighty burden of a family upon my young soul. That day, however, I made my vow upon the grave of my father. “From this day forth, any who stand beside me in this life, be they lover or friend, I will fight my hardest so no one will ever endure the void like I did. If I cannot, then I will make sure they do not suffer alone in silence. For you, father, I make this vow.” My sword is imbued with brilliant sapphire for a reason. Sapphire is my birthstone and favorite color. It also represents truth, wisdom and justice, all that my father stood for in this world. It...was also the same stones that adorned a ring he wore up until he passed. A ring that I wear to this day, as a reminder of that honored vow I made. I am imperfect, mind you. But I am called “The Resurgent,” because no matter how hard life becomes, no matter how dark things seem, I will never surrender. I will rise again in order to protect those dearest to me. And this is my unshakable truth.
