Entry log #271.
The beast that field operatives have managed to capture is a fascinating one. One of the creatures from one of those large creature hunting sectors, but several tests have shown it to be ancient enough to have lived through the destruction of one of the worlds there. Those who brought the beast to this facility have reported that the capture was easy due to it having just emerged from a fight at the time, its weary state making things easy for them. As for the creature itself, it was transported to holding pen number 183. The experiments that will follow will be quite informative on what makes it tick.
Entry log #272.
The haul from this beast is astonishing! The weapon that the beast had turned out to have an intact soul bit, of another one of those creatures. Different species but same originating world. This has provided some fuel for thought on what to do with the two after this discovery, already some experiments being planned out.
Entry log #285.
One of our experiments have proven to be a success. One of the lesser scientists proposed a splice of the beast and the soul bit. While it was met with criticism, it soon gave way to plausibility, then curiosity, if a creature can adapt features from something else. Several days of cutting, slicing, and eventually integration of the soul bit into the beast caused it to take on traits of the creature from the object. Its teal scales turned several shades darker, the front patterns of it looked to have been taking on the appearance of the secondary creature but only partially, likely due to how damaged the bit was.The arms though devolved marginally, becoming akin to that of wings yet still retained some capabilities of normal hands. All of these changes is when the subject woke up past sedatives that would have put a large corehound down. Suffice to say that up to eight of the staff facility perished before security personnel could subdue the beast.
Loss of life aside, this new hybrid could be of some use to the MLA. We'll just have to see what the higher-ups will say.
"Poor bastards...it must have broken out after this log." a scavenger muttered, finding no more logs on the barely functioning terminal save for some still images from barely functional camera feeds, pulling a plug from a socket next to the device and let it reel back to their pack.
Bringing a weapon of theirs to bear, they would head down a flight of stairs and into one of the holding pen wings in question. Blood stains from an old slaughter would be present, skeletons of long-deceased people strewn about as well. Even weapons, far too old and decrepit to be of any use, were on some of the skeletal remains, one of them occasionally being kicked aside when the scavenger tried to pass through. Nearing one of the pens would show that its original archway was long gone, shown only by the ruptured materials of something large having charged right through it. It would only take a few steps over the debris pile to look into the spot, more ruined than the other portions of the facility but still intact for the most part.
Stepping into the ruined holding pen, the scavenger would look around, having to switch on a shoulder-mounted light to see the area more properly. Tears in the walls from the claws of a large beast would be evident, along with numerous scorch marks and even bullet holes, the last one likely from security teams attempting to subdue the beast at the time it was making its escape. Some of the markings would catch the scavenger's attention, pausing in their panning to look at the oddity, noticing that they were arranged in some kind of way, like crude spelling. Taking a few steps back and thus letting the cone of light shine on a bit more area, they would try to decipher what was on the wall.
"I...am...Z..." they muttered under their breath, turning themselves to let the light shine on pieces further along the wall. "I...N...O...?" they finished, arching an eyebrow as they mouthed the full phrase.
Their train of thought was interrupted when they heard the sound of something hitting the ground behind them, quickly whipping around with gun pointed to the sound, only to lock up and nearly drop it in shock of what was before him. Matching some of the visual feeds was the very same beast that likely destroyed this facility from within, the blue eyes that were glowing faintly showing the mind of a feral creature.
The sounds that followed were that of a roar from the beast, a scream from a terrified scavenger, the cracks from a gun firing, only for all three to fall to silence.

So...had some DA points on hand and saw that the gachapons thing from DA user 'Night-Chimeras-Cry' was open at the time. I figured that I could get something from 'em, of a design for a fairly obscure character that could happen further down one path for them.
