Even though I only got one badge at this year Alamo City Furry Invasion furcon (unlike splurging on six last year), I did get a letter size portrait commissioned. I think it really captures my fursonia nicely.
This was done by the same artist that did the largest and last badge I got last year (Barely in time for the closing ceremony). You can see the badge here; http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25114995/ . She does great work.
She tried drawing on black paper for the first time. I initially was afraid it would too much like one of those cliché black velvet paintings. I'm really happy with it, especially the lighting plus my eyes, ears, and horns. I have to correct the nose ridges on the sketch and put the spiral on the horns but she pretty much nailed it on the final drawing.
The only minor thing I should have changed is my lower jaws is slightly too narrow but I can live with it. Maybe the belly scales are a little off. I should have paid more attention to it. Again, nothing I can really get worked up over.
If she returns next year, maybe I can grab something else from her. Not sure what that entails. Hopefully I'll figure that out before then.
p.s. I did thought about adding lightning bolts dancing in the background. I think it would really set if off. I suggested that if she had time but being the work was done at the con, I didn't it had much of a chance of making it into the final product.
