I hope to go to Russia someday: mostly Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The country has a rich background of art, culture, and history: a thousand years stretching from Vikings to Mongols, from Ivan the Terrible to Peter the Great, from revolution to revolution, long before the Bolsheviks, the Soviets, and the legacy of the Cold War.

In Soviet times, a lot of things destroyed.
but still much remains

Some of it was rebuilt. Thank goodness!
