Did you know that I LOVE bugs?
Jezebelle is a Carolina Locust (Dissosteira carolina) That I found a few weeks ago missing her back legs, so I took her home and made her a little house. I'm always fascinated watching her eat because of how many mouthparts locusts and grasshoppers have. Her favorite food is lettuce, but this pic was inspired by her just shoving a whole entire blade of grass in her face. I had her on my hand while drawing this. She's very polite, probably because she can't jump away without her legs.
I also have another female named Penny, who I was able to catch because she was, um, 'conjoined' with a male when I found her. So I better have some baby grasshoppers. She seems to really like leaves and spinach.
