I realized that I really didn't have a baseline series of reference pics of my primary character set. While updating my backup drives, I ran across some old project pics that I did for a character-list sheet that sat at the front of the binder 'o pics I carried to conventions, starting with my first time attending C-ACE in Ottawa, ON. I had never posted these pics to FA (I think they're on VCL), so I'm placing them here as a basic reference for prospective fanart, trades etc.
Roland is the first male character in my group, designed in 1986. He's currently an 'object of interest' to Tatiana, and recently, Nei'chelle. His original design was inspired by the character "Sony" in the Data East coin-op Bega's Battle (or the anime Harmagedon, depending on how much you know). This pic was inked and penciled 05/30/2003 while waiting for festivities to begin at C-ACE 2003. It subsequently got a digital color job on 07/06/2003.

Heh, naw, he was named after the electronic keyboard manufacturer :)
But there was a Thompson at C-ACE. Part of a bet that someone could get such a weapon into a Canadian con. And it did--as part of a weapons-drawing panel.
Groat wasn't happy at losing the bet. I got it all on videotape. It's become a minor con legend >:)
