A tiger lightning-deity, and the pissy young prince he’s made a pact with.
Byakko is a white tiger, while Akaali is a Ternovai; a race that live in the desert, and have many strange features and tendencies. Akaali is the 12th of 13 princes of his kingdom.

Byakko, although somewhat unwillingly, is tethered to the living world again through Akaali, after millennia of being locked away in the spirit realm. After Akaali’s land was suddenly overtaken by darkness, and the demons that came with it, the palace was ravaged and the land imbued with evil. Akaali and his mother were trapped in an altar room after a powerful demon smashed the pillars, attempting to kill everyone inside. His dying mother then sacrificed her life and body, as well as some of Akaali’s blood to call forth a deity that would form a pact with Akaali, and protect him.

Byakko is not very fond of Akaali, but because an entire soul, blood, and body were sacrificed to call him forth, he is deeply tied to him.
