Roger Random, the near-sighted mole was introduced in 1932, to serve as a recurring bit character. Often the rascally Beau would meet him in various locations. On one day he might be a soda jerk, on the other he may be a waiter, sometimes he's even a surgeon. But his near-sightedness always leads to disaster for those who need whatever service he provides. He has starred in several of his own cartoons, though Violet Studios found him to be more useful as a recurring character in numerous other franchises.
