I was originally going to name this "Nao, Your Best Friend" but I felt that would have been too forceful. In that picture I would have had this message, but I didn't want to throw it away either. so here it is:
Love, Nao
Now for what I really want to put here after much thought:
The boy was an orphan, his parents having passed away at a young age, he was left on the streets in a country unfamiliar to him. He tried asking for help, only to be beaten and bullied. He refused to steal, occasionally offered a bit of food by a kind individual- though they were few and far between. Eventually his body suffered from the abuse and malnutrition. He was unrecognizable had anyone payed him any mind over the year he was left on the streets. He was taken to a doctor twice due to severe beatings the local kids gave him.
He wanted to go home, but only the empty reminder that the ones who loved him were no longer in this world.
He cried... and cried...
One day he decided to give up.
Starving and alienated, he sat at the corner of an abandoned home in the streets. Many passed him, and gave him no attention. The ones that did showed concern, but took no action to help him. His bullies threw stones at him until He was unconscious.
Eventually no one came down that street as the seasons changed and leaves began falling. Blood from a cut had stained his hair a dark red on his left bang. He had no way to clean it, nor did he know how. The pain was intense, and he had a concussion. As he lost consciousness for what would be days, he had trouble remembering why he was there, why he was sad.
he forgot his parents faces...
One rainy day, a pale woman with a gentle smile on her face. She spoke his language, but did not look familiar. She told him she would help remove the pain and that there was no reason to be afraid anymore. She held out her hand
She took him to her home deep in the woods, where she was revealed to be a Witch that traveled time and space. She did not have any malicious plans for the orphan, but with the ragged clothing and unkempt hair from the months he had been left on the streets, she lent him some clothes after cleaning him up.
She took him under her wing as her apprentice, and took him to her home world.
She gave him a new name, one that he held dear for the rest of his life.
Nao matured; his hair grew long, he regained a healthy weight, and surprisingly enjoyed the clothes his Mama gave to him. He made friends, and lost friends. He learned a lot from his mother, and screwed up a lot as well. Eventually he learned spells and alchemy. Though not proficient in the former, he was skilled with alchemy.
With what little magic he learned, he put a passive self-sustaining spell on himself to make social interactions with stranger's "more friendly"- as he puts it. This passive spell is only activated when attempting to make any interaction with Nao, but is not limited to humans. When asked why, he responded with how much he feared being alone in a place where no one understood him would bully him. He did not want to re-live that trauma.
In the present day, Nao is 22. In this new life he is happy.
He doesn't remember his parents. Who he was before becoming the Witch's Child. He doesn't even remember how they died. He has traveled to different worlds and alternate timelines, and never found another "Nao". The woman who now took care of him told him perhaps the truth is too grim to look into...
Whew, I tried to make Nao's backstory as simple as possible for this post. =A=;
Once I'm in the writing zone I tend to lose track of time =-=;
As this is one of the only General geared pictures I have, please look at my mature and adult pictures should you be interested as well.

LawyChan Thank you dear~
Nao belongs to me.
Though you may be weird, quirky, misunderstood, or an outcast, it is nothing to be ashamed of.
Any regrets, mistakes, and misgivings you have do not reflect who you are, it's how you deal with that pain that makes you YOU.
And for those who can look past that and see through these flaws we all have,
I truly love you.
And no matter how you look
No matter what you say.
I will always be there
To hold your hand
And offer support.
Love, Nao

But perhaps... the past he remembers is false.
