The Crown of Leaves: Emeral reference
L: I never thought I would do it, but I did. I got a task to draw Emeral from the back view, and I realised that I have no idea how her outfit is designed! It's a problem of all old sprites in the game (Serban and Brilla as well), but I'm going to fix it.
So, let's get back to Emeral. I removed all unnecessary details such as pattern on pockets and keep the whole color sceme on cool shades (opposite to her warm coating). And wow, you can see Emeral without her headscarf!
P.S.: Thanks Sareii for the help with translation of the reference text <3

I love all of the little details. I'm a sucker for simple and practical styles of clothes that nevertheless have small fashionable flourishes like this one.
Any particular reason for why married women wear a covering for their ears? Is it an expected modesty thing? That would suggest that ears are considered an erogenous zone. Or is it for a more practical reason that has become so pervasive that it's now a symbol of marriage and womanhood? Two reasons I can think of are that women traditionally did a lot of outdoor work in a coldish climate, so it helps keep their ears warm, or that it's effective in protecting your hearing with a couple of screaming babies in the house!
The family beads also intrigue me. Saying that they are "family beads" suggests that they might be a set of prayer beads handed down through generations or that the beads are inscribed with the names of each member of her family as a kind of personal charm or jewelry.
Lots of great work and style going into this!

MOST ADORABLE MOM 10/10 100/100!!!
I’ve always adored her dress - that lovely color and those pockets are so eye-catching! ^u^ And I do wonder about that headscarf and the ear coverings; very interesting stuff!
(Also, I can’t get over how she apparently keeps Roui’s baby tooth with her. :’) Best, most adorable mom. I can’t wait to see more of her in the full game!)
