Backgrounds
I charge a rate of $7.50 an hour, separate from the price of the illustration itself for backgrounds.
I will usually sketch a potential background whilst drawing the characters, but if you didn't declare that you wanted
a background before paying for the commission, I usually won't accept it.
This manner of doing backgrounds is different because I believe that it's flexible to how much work needs to be done on the environment,
this way no one's getting charged 15 for a basic bedsheet bg and the same for a really dense forestry bg.
Comics/Sequences
Payment plans! This is where they come in, because I know not a lot of people can pay a $500 comic up front.
Speaking of, I will never accept an amount like that on a normal occasion. Big commissions will have to be done in payment plans,
where as you pay a certain amount as I start working on a part of the commission. I will not begin a part until I'm paid a proportional amount of the commission's total at that time.
As for the price of comics and sequences, I will define both of them in my own terms first.
Comics are many small illustrations on one page in their own panels.
Sequences are a series of full sized illustrations on multiple canvases.
Comics' prices will be difficult to determine, as I don't expect to be paid full price for a panel when your character only has their head showing.
So understand that first, I will make a ~really rough~ sketch of your idea (you MUST provide an idea, best when you have a script for the comic illustration what's to happen) and then quote you for it.
When you commission me for comic pages, you come prepared to pay the price
As for sequences, they're full sized illustrations, so they're going to be close to full price, if not the same. On special occasions, they may be marked down slightly, but don't expect it.
