Bogtober Day 22: Flowers
Bogtober returns for another year! This is basically an Inktober challenge with personalized prompts, but me and TheDogzLife decided to make a public prompt list this year. It can be found here and anyone is welcome to join, whether you'll be participating traditionally or digitally and whether for just a few prompts or the entirety of the list! Dog and myself are going to do the full list traditionally like we did last year. Hope you enjoy seeing our work!
This was an interesting one. I don't normally involve floral themes in my work, or at least not very detailed. Nothing against flowers, just never had a particular interest in them. But I tried to actually look up some flowers And What They Mean.
Wallflower on the flower crown (faithfulness in adversity)
Geraniums in the circle around the character (true friendship)
Roses in the front (yellow: joy, friendship, the promise of a new beginning; and coral: friendship, modesty, sympathy)
The geraniums don't look like geraniums in colour, but I tried. Also I used Dog in this because they're a loyal and close friend of mine. And there's this Dutch expression "in the bloemetjes zetten" (literally "to put in flowers") meaning to treat someone, to let them know you appreciate them. It all sEEMED FITTING therefore have a flowery Dog
