WOTF, Chapter 29: A Werewolf Preview (Male to Werewolf)
The continuing Wolf on the Field story continues with this latest chapter. The Josh-Connor subplot continues, with an interaction between them days before the full moon. It's cryptic, with some questions that could easily be posed in regards to what's happening.

*Five days before the Full Moon
Sunday, 7:39 PM
"You wouldn't by chance know about Ethan Barrow?"
Josh eyed Connor suspiciously within the shack he had brought him to in the middle of the woods, his former sanctuary from society. He had often gone to the shack as a means to hide out during the full moon, or simply as a place where he could collect his thoughts. Oftentimes, it was a location for something else, something to pass his time. Now...now it was invaded. Connor stood in the middle of it, glancing around at the dirtied wooden floorboards and the boarded up windows, done so for the purpose of truly securing something within its confines. Furthermore, his stomach nearly heaved when Connor knelt down to touch the coils of chain that had been thrown to the floor after the last full moon, who even noted how it was adequately secured to the floor.
"Someone punched him unconscious last night," Connor offered Josh. He walked close to Josh, bringing his face close to him. "Was it you?"
Josh shoved Connor away, using both hands against his chest. Connor stumbled back, nodding in silence, before taking out a cigarette and lighting it. "Why would I touch him?" Josh raged.
"Because you don't like competition." Connor coyly looked Josh in the eye. "You never have." He shrugged, taking a drag of his cigarette. "If your goal was to disable him, prevent him from ever playing football again, congratulations. He sure as hell is out of this season."
"I barely know him."
"But indirectly do."
Josh could feel his stomach intensifying, making him want to vomit. How did he know about Derek? Was it even possible? But worse...was Derek cheating on him with Ethan? Even that didn't make sense. Ethan was straight and him and Derek were the best of friends. It would be completely uncharacteristic for Derek to assault someone close to him.
Connor brushed off some dust from a nearby chair and sat down. "It's not important," he offered. He exhaled smoke, allowing it to billow throughout the space of the shack. "Let's talk about what's important," he said, then gesturing around the room. "It's going to be here it happens? Right?"
"Midnight," Josh volunteered, internalizing his anger that he was divulging such information.
"How many will be here?"
Josh was silent, grimacing at the thought.
"Fine, don't tell me." Connor took one final drag of his cigarette, dropping it to the floor and crushing it under his foot. "You've already admitted you're not the only one. And here's some further information, I know you're trying to formulate a pack."
Josh's eyes widened and his mouth opened to speak. "Who -"
"You are NOT as smart as you think you are!" Connor shouted, bolting up onto his feet. "I have you backed into a corner precisely because you were too arrogant to think you'd ever be caught. And now, you're trapped."
"I'm not trapped."
"Oh really?" Connor tested. Walking closely to Josh as he spoke, he smirked. "From my vantage, I have an alpha wolf at my disposal...to do what I wish...to pounce when I say hunt..." He brought his face close to Josh's. "...to give me whatever I want, whenever I want."
Noting the closeness of their faces, Josh smirked. "Is this the part when you kiss me?"
"Don't flatter yourself." He took a step back. "You're going to do one better for me. You're going to transform for me."
"I don't think so."
"Oh you'll do it because you're my wolf and I'm letting my wolf off the lease."
"I said no."
"What if I said..." Connor stopped himself. He held up a finger, motioning a moment's hesitation before hurriedly walking to the shack's entrance, unbolting the lock, and pushing the door open. "...what if I tempted you by saying, if you transform for me, I'll look the other way if you kill someone tonight." He slammed the door shut and locked it. "I know that's what you want to do."
"You don't know anything about me."
"Did you know that the serial killer Ted Bundy claimed pornography caused him to murder his thirty-or-so victims? Porn?! Talk about directing the cause of your malice towards something that you know is not the root cause in a desperate attempt to find solace with the inner devil within yourself. You? You have an inner beast within yourself and you not only kill, you enjoy killing. And you've been forming a wolf pack with that intent. You bite them, let them get infected, then enjoy them trying to resist changing, you want them to lose control because that means it's you who controls them." Connor took another cigarette from his pocket, lighting it, glancing at Josh with the cigarette hanging from his mouth. "Am I wrong?"
Josh stared at Connor in silence, who smirked back. "I have my means of finding out facts. And I also have my means of digging up information that benefits me. So let's agree on a mutual agreement: I, a human who has more control than you ever will, will control your pack. In exchange, you can have your pack and kill cautiously, though occasionally meet some criteria that I will require met."
"I could so easily bite you and turn you too."
"You won't and you know precisely why." Josh knew this to be true. Connor sat back down. "So it's five days before the full moon. You'll be forced to transform cause of the moon. Tonight I want you to transform because of me. Because *I* willed it."
Knowing he didn't have a choice, Josh began to undo his pants, but not before Connor stopped him. "No! Keep your clothes on. Rather you have to tear out of them. I want to see how powerful my alpha can get."
It wasn't difficult for Josh to begin the process. He simply had to think of murdering Connor, how badly he wanted to do it. The fury within him unleashed the wolf that was embedded within him. He felt his muscles beginning to tense, his arms and legs beginning to feel rigid. His muscle steadily began to get sore, making him lean back and grip the wall, his nails slightly digging into the wood.
The pain was incredible; he was literally forcing the wolf out of him. Yet...he wanted it. Connor was right...he wanted to kill. He loved the idea of doing so. By being a wolf, he could do the most damage. He yelled out in pain, as his eyes darted at Connor, revealing their red color.
The soreness traveled to his hands, beginning the process of strands of fur sprouting his hands and his nails beginning to extend slightly. His vocal cords were already beginning to reformat with his smooth voice being replaced by a animalistic moan, which emitted from him as he noticed fur pushed from his arms, and his biceps and triceps thickening and splitting the seams of his shirt at the forearms and upper shoulders. As the fabric split, fur poked out, being immediately pronounced.
His nails grew longer and more lethal as his face began to grow fur and he felt an ache in his mouth, as he realized his teeth were sharpening and his molars were extending into fangs. At the same time, he felt his quads and calf muscles thickening within his pants, building more muscle and restricting space due to the excessively growing fur.
He felt his back muscles expanding, which quickly tore the back of his shirt. Without warning, he felt a pressure hit the base of his pants, the emergence of his newly formed tail. He half moaned-growled as the feeling of his tail thickened and grew, stretching the seat of his pants out, wanting to tear out.
He could feel his feet elongating, pushing to the front of his shoes. He could feel his toenails sharpening and pushing outwards, immediately ripping through the front of his shoes. His feet stretched further as the bones expanded, ripping his shoes in half. This caused Josh to lose his balance, falling to his hands and knees. The fall to the floor, caused him to inadvertently push downwards, causing his long tail to rip from the back of his pants, not exposed for all to see.
His pants further split along the sides as he growled, with his teeth further sharpening. His ears pointed and stretched upwards to the side of his head. His face, covered in fur was now masking that it ever was the high-school swimmer Josh was. His facial bones cracked, pushing his face forward, formulating a ferocious muzzle.
With the remaining fur covering his body, and the last of his clothes in tatters on the floor, the werewolf howled in the middle of the shack, unrestrained, and wanting to wreck havoc. It saw an open door and immediately dashed outside into the surrounding woods.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Connor immediately shut the shack door after Josh's wolf form exited, locking the door behind him. He knew he would have to stay in the shack overnight to protect himself from any unfortunate mishap. It was an inconvenience, but a necessary one.
