Ryuna, meet Ryuvi. Don't worry, she won't bite. What is she, you may ask? She is a Viali, and no she won't burn you if she touches you, In fact, she shares a lot of things with you, in particular body chemistry, so you can hug all you'd like. Yes, Ryuvi is soft and feathery, just like you, and yes, she is just as interested in you as you are of them.

This is a little sketch showing the size differences between an Avali, and my Viali species as they are right now. Ryuna the Avali is three feet tall (0.91m), and Ryuvi the Viali is four feet tall (1.22m).

The Avali and Viali share similar internal chemistry, to such a degree that they have similar body temperature, and can breathe the same atmosphere. Most of their similarities are due to similar home environments, and due to independent convergent evolution - meaning they evolved similar physical traits entirely independently. And yes, because of this, an Avali and Viali can hug one another, without fear of burning one another. :>
