It's so hot here, I'm under the impression it's still august, so I was thinking about the end of summer in more civilized places.

Most towns in Alabama are tiny and nonexistant from what I've seen. Hah. XD
I'm actually in Gulf Shores, which is one of several very small tourist trap towns on the couple miles of coast that Alabama has.
I was born in and grew up in upstate NY and moved here to be with my gf. We're moving to the Raleigh, NC area at the start of November.
Around what part of AL was your dad from? Hopefully nicer than here.
