The distance doesn't bother the canine. In fact, it's those long, quiet walks that he looks forward to. Every other day, Larx travels alone to the town down the mountain to buy his needs, then makes the same lonely trek back the way he came, either with a satchel full of strawberries or a nice time to read for pleasure in tow. The beautiful sunset and the view of the lake shimmering in the orange and violet might make the trip well worth it, but it seems like this time Larx happens to be distracted by a rare book he chanced upon while buying his fresh stock. What could he be reading that would have Larx completely enamored within those pages? Who knows...but he'll be home before he knows it if he continues reading!
