Dude needs to realize it's not just guilt that makes her want to take care of him. That lab woman really did like him. And she wants to help him adjust, not just out of guilt, but because she believes he deserves to be treated with respect as a person. But I suppose it will take time for him to understand that. It's never easy recovering one's humanity, once it's lost.
...Pardonne, is literally struggling with that scientist in her head. She is crazy. Simply put crazy. She loves the fact that she gets to live a new life but the scientist in her is telling her how things should work. Pardonne has an angle on her shoulder that she is listening to who doesn't know what is going on, and is ignoring the devil on her right that does know what is going on.
Yanuna is not going to brake her any more then she is going to break him. The pain they both felt is too great, but that same pain lead them in different directions. Meating in the middle isn't going to make things normal, they know that. What they don't know is what will happen when they do meat up in the middle, Yanuna believes that they will hate each other's guts while Pardonne believes the opposite. This is a hell of a relationship.

Oh, I know that it's a genuine development for the story ! It's just that it's one of those ideas that has been so thoroughly spoiled by its overuse, even and especially when it's not warranted, that you feel dirty simply for suggesting it, even if it's where the story is naturally heading !
And unlike many people here, I don't think that Pardonne and Yanuna are 'messed up'. That would imply they're bad people - they're not. I know that they're sincerely trying their best to be good persons - it's just that sometime, due to your circumstances, the best you can do simply isn't enough.
