Valda the Tender

Valda is everyone's grandmother. Well not quite everyone’s but so many people have forgotten how many greats they need to put before her title as grandmother it feels like she is. Her lineage has spread far enough that more than a 3rd of the population can draw relation in some manner.

As the Tender, Valda gathers the Soul collected by the Fatalis who travel into the Shadow. She tends to the needs of Mirna and is the functioning final word on all things Saint. Every Sainted Fatalis who brings Soul to the Caretakers gives it to Valda who presumably supplies it to Mirna but the particulars of what transpires are known only to the Caretakers.

Someday Mirna will rise to take her place as Watcher but when exactly is unknown. She spends most of her time in Heartwood Hall but can still be seen often enough running errands about town. She is especially fond of her grandchildren while they are too young to be travelling the Shadow as Saints. While she technically sits on the town council she often leaves that duty to Dipak.
