This is a somewhat personal image for me, as well as one of my few color works.
On the surface, this image reflects my artistic progression; the figure on the left is my Vixen Goddess (designed in 2008) while the figure on the right is Shadowbeast, an previous avatar of mine from my Junior High School days. I think I designed him in the early 90's but I can't be too sure. The detail of Shadowbeast is in keeping with the simplicity I drew him then. (I have no idea how his wings are supposed to work, and his clothing was almost an afterthought).
The characters themselves are also a bit representational of my mentality at their inception. The Vixen Goddess has become my icon for unabashed hedonism, while Shadowbeast was that "outcast anti-hero" persona that appeals to emotional teenagers.
Initially drawn with Ink on 81/2" x 11" paper, scanned and colored in Corel Photopaint. I estimate it took about six hours of total work, but I'm not sure.
