The growing fear of these terrible beings, known as the Namuh, was causing a feeling of dread and despair to fall over the town. The Namuh where known, from legend, to be a very dangerous and aggressive race.
Their savagery knew no bounds. It is said, in many a legend, that the Namuh would often kill members of the furry race for nothing more than sport and a show of strength. Occasionally the Namuh would take a newly fallen Anthro and skin them for there hide. Through this ritual they would then fashion crude clothing out of there victim.
Even more horrible than the killings was the Namuh’s slave trade. Entire families would often be gathered up and eventually, after their spirits where broken, sent to the Namuh’s homeland to be sold. Most of those poor souls would never have anything more than a life of hard labor and abuse by the hands of the Namuh. No matter what was done to the Anthro’s once they got to the Namuh’s homeland, one thing was sure....you would never see them again. This was a sad fact that all knew, but only revered as a story to scare naughty cubs…till now that is.
Within the last few months before winter the sheer number of sightings increased one-hundred fold. Sightings where happening all over the country of Wayhelm, and neighboring nations followed by reports of entire towns and villages being massacred or the inhabitants completely disappearing without a trace.
Around the same time as this news the townspeople noticed a decrease in the number of travelers to visit there town, and the few that did often told stories of terrible battles being fought all over the country. Worse was the fact that the stories were often backed up by the fact that all Anthro’s traveling through Brohen were often heavily armed and armored.
There had been talk around town about sending a request for armed troops to help guard there village. The mayor, a rather large Boar by the name of William Troft, refused to send for help. He claimed that doing so would just make the town of Brohen look like it could not defend itself. Most of the citizens knew that in fact…they could not defend themselves. One sheriff and a deputy was no match against the daemons known as the Namuh.
If they could not count on there mayor to do the right thing, then they were going to have to learn to defend themselves. A town meeting was called on the Saturday before X-mas for noon. Anyone who knew how to fight or those interested in learning where asked to be present at this meeting.
This is the second installment and things are starting to pick up. You see the conflict spreading through the land and one towns struggle is just beginning.
Keep watching for future installments.
