As the story dragged on, Apex started shrinking back.
Once he was done, he was back to a normal size.
And hordes of journalists, the army and other stuff tried and "claim" him.
Hayes had to evacuate him with the NBC helicopter.
During the quick flight to get in the calmer outskirts of the town, the reporter and the cameraman tried to make their guest wear some clothes ("Why do you have additional clothes?" "A good reporter is always prepared.").
Which was hard, since even at human size, he still was impressively big.
The T-Rex finally managed to shove his ass in too small pants.
Once the chopper landed, the interview began anew.
Eventually, Hayes asked how the dinosaur could change size like that.
"Easy, I'll show you," smirked Apex as he called upon the MMHG generator to send him a big, powerful sample.
The sample was generated and sent...
Straight on a house, that got smashed to bits even though it did nothing to deserve this.
"...Oops," wheezed Apex in a high-pitched voice, as the journalist and his team gaped in horror.
Thankfully, the only person living in this house was in the garden.
A man of middle height, slightly fat, bald but with an impressive beard that was starting to grey out.
"What... What the fuck..." stammered the newly-homeless man.
"Uh..." stammered Apex who had approached. "It's my fault. I called it down and..."
The murderous glare the man was now giving him made him falter.
"It was an accident, honest!" he finally yelped.
"AN ACCIDENT?!" exploded the man. "YOU FUCKING THROW A FUCKING METEOR ON MY HOUSE, WHICH I HAVE JUST FINISHED PAYING OFF, AND YOU CALL THAT AN ACCIDENT?!"
Even though he was much taller and bulkier than the man, Apex was scared shitless.
"I'll make it up to you! I swear, mister..."
"FERGUS O'CHUNKS!!" barked the man as a way of introduction. "AND HOW THE HELL YOU'RE GONNA DO THAT?! YOU GOT SOME MONEY OR CRAP LIKE THAT?!"
"Uh..."
In all that rabid anger and awkward panic, everyone forgot what the "meteor" was supposed to do.
And that Fergus was the one exposed to it...
