Hi.
Nice piece. Is this about a particular war/battle in particular, or is it general commentary on the phenomena or war?
I'm not sure why it would need a mature rating.
I particularly enjoyed the 'stream' imagery. Like, obviously the stream doesn't physically remember the blood, since it all washes away, but we hold that it does against logic. When I was young, we used to visit Gettysburg, PA occasionally. It's odd how much significance we attach to the sites of bloodshed, even long after the wreckage is cleared. When confronted with the ghost of carnage, we are at a loss to understand its significance, so we put it in the rocks and dirt.
