I realized I've never uploaded any pictures of Hug Bug, an amazing insect suit made by  temperance in early 2016 and one of my favorite characters to play. Don't let the plush spikes fool you - this is a big soft squishy bug who loves hugs.

The character is based off the Maggot Marauders, a group of bumbling insect henchman from the 90's Power Ranger knock-off, Masked Rider. (which itself is taken from the original Japanese show, Kamen Rider. But that's another story...)

My love for goofy power ranger monsters is no secret, and I always had a soft spot these minions growing up. They'd spend the episode chasing around the hero and his friends trying to catch them. But when they caught the hero (which they did a surprising amount of times), they'd just like, hug them for a while. Or try to wrap their blue tongue around them, or spray them with slime. Just adorable clumsy antics.

I've been having fun taking him to cons and comic book conventions. To date, not a single person has guessed what show the character is from. But it's waaaay too much fun to play a bug and confuse them with what the heck I actually am ;)
