The Rebirth of Anubis part two/continued
Hey all, it got cut off, so here is part two.
Omni: At last a tall, burly man stepped forward. "I have worked all of my life trying to better myself and my position. All that the outside world has done is tear at me as I fight. I would prefer this life rather than have such corruption try to take me!" *Interesting. He has the spirit of a warrior Darius. Do you think he may have some old memories as well?*
Thronezwei: *Possibly. This place seems to have a side effect of unlocking old memories for people and not only myself.* "Then it shall be done!" I repeated the process, and it seemed to also cause ornate armor and a weapon to appear. This man had indeed been a guard of mine in the past. "What is your name, old or new, sir?"
I turned to the rest of the tourists. "Please continue to consider your options. I am in no hurry, however. Take your time, I implore you. I would rather this take longer and allow those who wish to leave and return to their old lives be able to than rush and trap people by accident."
Omni: "I am Captain Bashir, my lord."
"Ah, Bashir, old friend it has been too long. The troops have missed you."
"Thank you my lord, it is comforting to know that they still remember me." As we continued on, it seemed that many people chose to stay with Darius. A few were new souls and had no past memories, but it seemed the majority was indeed reincarnations. At last, it came down to an old man who had been changed into a strong and solemn looking Jackal, though still just as wise. You could see it in the grayness under his chin.
"I have lived a long life and am content. I have lost a great deal, my wife, my children, and even my grand children were taken from me by terrible and brutal means. I have naught left for me in this corrupt world and shall gladly leave it."
*I do believe we have the makings of a priest here, Darius. His manner is certainly solemn enough, and there is something else about him as well.*
Thronezwei: *He...he's the priest that made all this possible! I can sense it!* "I am truly sorry to hear this, dear sir. I will happily accept your offer to join me." I started the spell off as usual, but part way through; the old man seemed to take over on his own, as if he were riding a bicycle after a long time. Once the spell had finished, I spoke to him, thankful. There was no doubt in my mind that it was him. Fate was truly being kind to me today...my friends, both old and new had returned.
"It really is you...thank you. Though I have forgotten your name over these many years, I have not forgotten what you did for me. I cannot possibly thank you enough for not only helping me return, but experience life as a mortal in these modern times. It helped me meet many good friends like Omni here, and experience a lot."
Omni: "I wish I could take the credit, my lord, but I cannot. I merely saw the vision and followed its instructions. It was fate which gave you this chance, not I."
Thronezwei: "Still, I owe you a lot. Without you following those instructions, none of this would've happened. But what is your name?"
As I waited for him to respond, I turned to the rest.
"Friends, both old and new alike, I welcome you! As you may have gathered, my tomb was moved to this new land, though all of us are familiar with it, having lived in these times. We owe Circe a debt of gratitude as well. But there will likely be more visitors who will undergo the same experience as you. Some may be old friends and family members drawn here by fate, others may just be coming in here to see an exhibit. But we will nevertheless help them out should they choose to stay. This park is where we will live, though I have prepared rooms for you inside here. Food and other amenities are in the park, though I am preparing to have some introduced inside here. But those of you who have chosen to leave, I wish to thank you for putting up with an old god. If you wish to see the rest of the park, I urge you to do so. It is a truly amazing place."
*This...this is been amazing, Omni. Who would've thought that when we first encountered each other that this would be the result? I sure did not. I still wish to grant you some kind of favor for helping me, though.*
Omni: *Um ... I'm not sure really. I mean, I may desire things, but I’m not sure if I should ask. You know how bashful I can be.*
"My lord, if I may intrude, perhaps you should grant him some small amount of magic for him to use. Perhaps to call on the spirits of the elements for aid when necessary. And as for my name, I believe it was Ramses, though I am not proud of it. Under that pharaoh, many innocent men and women suffered under slavery simply for being a potential threat when they never meant any harm."
“So it is true, the Israelites, my ancestors really were enslaved in Egypt. You have made me most glad indeed, for now I know that the record of my God is true."
He looked at me very seriously.
"You are a follower of that god?"
"Indeed I am. He is my father, and his teachings have been restored to the earth in their full state. Much has happened since your time."
"Hmmm, we have much to discuss young one, but after this 'tour' is finished."
Thronezwei: "We do indeed. But you make a good point about the magic. I can grant you that ability, if you desire it, Omni. But we should save this conversation on religion for when there is more time."
Truthfully, I wished to avoid too much talk about it. I knew that religion was, is and will likely remain a hot button issue. Besides, this was a happy time, and serious discussions could wait until later. The tourists who had chosen to eventually return to human had left by then, having been shown out by Bethset. I wondered what we should all do next. And then it hit me. I could ask Circe if holding a banquet for the park's employees would be a good idea. Once the tourists had left the park, that is. This was a place of business, after all.
Omni: "What are you thinking Darius?"
Thronezwei: "I was thinking of holding some kind of banquet, with Circe's permission, naturally to celebrate all that's occurred today. It'd be once the park closes for the night, too, so that would cut down on the muss and fuss that comes with such things. I feel a duty to show my thanks for everyone and what they've done, and that seems the best way to do it. Not to mention it'd allow us to meet the rest of the staff and our new co-workers. None of you have any objections, right? And I can seal off the tomb so you and your men can attend, Bashir."
I still didn't know if Omni wanted the gift I was offering, but I decided not to press the issue. Better that he reach the decision on his own than feel he owed me anything and accept for that reason only. I was smiling from ear to ear at this point. I was quite pleased with everything, all told.
Omni: "hmmm, then I'd better contact Circe."
"No need Omni, I'm already here." I jump. She almost always catches me by surprise.
Thronezwei: "You enjoy catching people off guard like that as usual, I see. Took me by surprise as well! But I am guessing you heard my idea for a banquet. I'd honestly like to try that out, unless you have an alternative that you feel is better. Since this is your park, I'll defer to you here. But I must thank you for letting me reunite with my old friends, as well as make new ones."
Her entrance had caught me off guard, but I suppose she had developed abilities since I'd last encountered her way back when people still thought the world was flat. And poor Omni was surprised entirely! Ramses didn't seem too shocked, I guess he anticipated it, or had lived long enough to not be surprised anymore.
Omni: "I heard what you want, Anubis, and I don't see why not. The park is getting close to closing anyhow. I'll need to inform the other employees, but that shouldn't take very long. Nor shall getting it set up. Magic is so very useful, wouldn't you agree?"
Thronezwei: I smile and laugh that distinctive barking laugh of mine. She could read me like a book. It would be easy to get it set up, and I could always ask Omni and the others for what food which employee and their retinue favored the most, assuming they weren't granted an anthromorphic form to allow them to eat more than just their intended diet.
"Yes, it is useful indeed! Though technology has surpassed it in many ways, it'll take a very long time before it can do what magic can! I can help get the preparations underway right now! Everyone, you are invited!"
Omni: A huge cheer erupts from the hall and it sounds like all over the park too. I could swear the pyramid shook. "Did someone broadcast that message to all the staff? cause it sure sounded that way.
Thronezwei: "It wouldn't surprise me since I did send a message to Ziggs over the PDA a moment ago! I'm sure that the restaurants in the park can handle catering to an event this size! Omni, any food you especially want to be present, and if one of the places here makes it, what one?"
In the back of my mind, I alter the clothing I'd worn into the park before I awakened to accommodate my new form. A tail hole in the jeans I'd worn, as well as making them better able to fit my new form, a size increase in the t-shirt I'd worn, as well as making the neck hole a little wider so I could put it on without my muzzle interfering, and adapting my shoes and socks to fit digitrade paws with claws on them. My watch remained much the same, though I altered it with a more personal design. And finally, my baseball cap I also modified with holes for my ears to fit through. I thought about my license, but would leave it the same. Once Omni confirmed what he wanted, I would change into those items. I would later do the same to the rest of my wardrobe once I went to bring it to Circe's Park.
Omni: "Well Darius, speaking honestly, I'll eat just about any food you put in front of me. I'm not a very picky eater." The whole time preparations are being made, I'm going through an internal struggle. *It would be cool to have power over the elements, but I technically already have such power. And I doubt Father would be happy with me if I did accept Darius' offer even if it is with only the best of intentions. Besides, I don't really think I deserve the reward in the first place. All I did was take him into the tomb for a tour of ancient Egyptian stuff and a transformation into a jackal. If he weren't Anubis, he would have just become another animal in the funhouse. Why do these kinds of decisions always have to be so hard?*
Thronezwei: "I see! Well, I'm sure then that you'll definitely enjoy this banquet! If you'll excuse me for a moment, I'm going to go put on some clothing better fit for modern times. I can't wear my royal outfit all the time, or else it'll get sort of boring!"
As I walk away and remove my now-altered clothing from the sarcophagus, I could sense some sort of internal debate within Omni. I didn't listen too closely, as I did not wish to intrude in his mind, not to mention such a thing was difficult for me to manage. But I hoped he was well. He deserved some kind of reward in my opinion. I was not the type to let a good deed go without granting the person or people some kind of favor, but I was reluctant to force people to accept one at the same time. It didn't take long for me to find the changing room that I had set up in my chamber for such an occasion and change. It felt good to be in the clothing I'd worn before I re-awakened. I needed to remind myself that I had been mortal, and to never under appreciate them, as I had lived as one. I walked back into the room a minute or so later and smiled as I asked Omni the same question I had asked before I had become whole again.
"So, how do I look?"
Omni: "You look good! Reminds me of how I look when I'm in kitsune form, only you're a jackal."
Thronezwei: "Thank you, Omni! It didn't take much to modify this for my new form, but I think it was worth it. I'll alter everyone else's original clothing after the banquet if they want me to. I find it nice to remember that we still have ties to the outside world, even slight ones. But let's go and eat!"
With that statement, I teleported the group outside, though Circe seemed to have beaten us to the site anyhow. It had been set up in a theme that reminded me of Egypt back before my death. Though, I admitted with a chuckle, Coke and many of the foods present hadn't existed at that point. But it didn't matter. This was my gift to the funhouse for helping me remember and become who I truly was. And perhaps I would remain there for many years before I felt like seeing the world again. I did not know. All that was certain was that I had good friends, and that was worth everything to me.
"Everyone, eat, drink, and have fun! This is my gift to all of you!"
Omni: And at his bidding, everyone began to dig in. It had been a wonderful and magical day at the funhouse, but then again, when wasn’t it? Either way, I knew we had some great stuff in store for the future and I looked forward to it heartily, almost as heartily as I was eating the food. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
The End.
Omni: At last a tall, burly man stepped forward. "I have worked all of my life trying to better myself and my position. All that the outside world has done is tear at me as I fight. Well, the truth is, this was meant to be a one-time story, an RP between an old friend and I. I never considered expanding this universe, and I'm not sure if I have the time to do it right now anyways. It is possible I might consider it in the future, but for now, with all the work I'm doing to get on my feet, and other stories and edits in the works, I'm afraid I'll have to file it under a definite no. Sorry.
P.S. This was also a bit of a fan work because it took place in
Comus's Circe's Funhouse universe. If I were to do a story involving awakening the other members of the Egyptian pantheon, I'd likely have to start from scratch, taking elements from this RP to help along the way, but making it outside of the Funhouse universe.
P.S. This was also a bit of a fan work because it took place in

I did? Wow, I totally forgot about that one. XD. It's been a long time since I looked at these stories. I can't recall them well. I guess we just decided to roll with it and have some fun. My previous answer still applies, however. If I do the entire pantheon, I will likely start a new story from scratch and carry elements from these RPs into it.
Fair point, though the thing is, every Egyptian god has an animal aspect or incarnation, so I probably would be tempted to do the whole pantheon, simply because it would be interesting to do them all, and because I have a tendency to want to be thorough. XD OCD can be annoying sometimes.
