"Here's the thing about good and evil."
"Evil doesn't fear good, because good is loud. Good is triumphant. Good is bright and colorful and victorious and obvious."
"Evil only fears good when it becomes too big to slink in the shadows, and by that point, it usually doesn't need to fear anything."
"Evil doesn't fear the good it robs. Evil fears the evil it breeds."
"You know how many times I've had nightmares about getting caught by the guard? You know how often I wake up in a cold sweat thinking about the people I've robbed?"
"None. Never."
"Because I watch my back. I know what they'd love to do to me, but they never will, because I have the shadows. I can drop my name at the turn of a coin, I can be whoever I want, wherever I want, and they will never pin me down."
"And because they follow procedure. If they got their hands on me, they'd put me in chains, or stocks, or a hangman's noose, and I'd be right back out, before they could blink an eye."
"I don't fear good. I don't fear kings and nobles. I don't fear Daybreak, or any other guild out there. Because they're bright, and colorful, and victorious."
"I fear the kids I left behind. I fear the ghosts."
"I fear that one of these days, someone is going to recognize my face before I recognize theirs."
"I'll go to bed one night, and I just won't wake up."
"They've had a lifetime to think about what they'd do, if they ever got the chance, just like me."
"They've had a lifetime to get angry, to give up, just like me."
"They've had a lifetime to learn the shadows, to make their own fortune, just like me."
"So I don't sleep."
"Evil doesn't fear good. Evil fears the kids who grow up. Evil fears me."
"And I fear them, too."
"I'm sorry, mom."
"I have one last sin to commit."
"No more shadows. Not when this is over. I need to be known for this."
"I need to be the storm that broke the north wind."

It's sooooooo good!
Copypasta from reddit (unsurprisingly, it's D&D-inspired!):
It hasn't happened yet, and knowing my luck, the actual showdown will probably turn out differently enough that this pic won't ever really be canon. But when I was reminded that Blacksand Cove was built next to an active volcano, I knew I had to draw it.
My character - a tabaxi rogue named Fekkri ("Big Sky") - was taken from his family by a large company of slavers that operates out of Blacksand Cove. After ten years of forced servitude, theft, abduction, and piracy, Fekkri realized he was perpetuating a cycle of revolting inhumanity, so he poisoned his crewmates, armed the slaves, organized a mutiny, and made a break for the mainland.
Several years later, after joining an adventuring guild to try to atone for some of the awful shit he did as a pirate, Fekkri's finally headed back to Blacksand, for what is arguably our most ill-informed, suicidal, and morally ambiguous plan, yet.
See, for the past several months, we've been dealing with the cult of an insane, nihilistic shadow dragon who wants to return the Material Plane to chaos. We've learned that this dragon is drawn to political instability and power vacuums like a magnet. His cult operates by going from city to city inciting dissent, destabilizing key political structures, and creating chaotic, disorganized environments. Once the city is sufficiently destablized, the dragon shows up and finishes the job.
While he's on the Material Plane, however, the dragon is much weaker. We want to take advantage of that. We've gathered a few key artifacts, ensuring that the dragon can actually be slain. We just need a way to lure him back to the Material Plane, which means we needed a city to destabilize. Preferably one we don't mind suffering a little collateral damage.
Fekkri can't honestly say he didn't have a personal stake in the suggestion, but the rest of the party seems to be on board. So now we're making our way to the volcanic harbor, where we're gonna start burning things to the ground until we've got Big Bad's attention. First stop, of course, is the slaving company Fekkri used to work for, where he's hoping to finally get revenge for what was done to him, and put an end to the cycle that ensnared him.
