Appearing as small felines from a distance, these familiars are actually shape-shifting demons that will claim a piece of their master's soul in exchange for their services. Their lanterns contain the amalgam of all past master's essences, which fuels their power. This power also appears as wisps of colored flame or forms ethereal weapons for the familiar's use.

The more soul fragments a familiar has, the more powerful it becomes. Likewise, the stronger it's master is, the stronger the familiar. This combined with their contractual obligation not to harm their master makes it in their best interest to serve and increase the power of their master. Still, some of these cunning creatures may seek out foolhardy masters in the hopes that they will get themselves killed so they can move on to further endeavors. These demons are very long-lived, and may amass quite the collection of souls.

They can also appear as anthro, humanoid, and monster versions of their base form.
