Honoring departed loved ones is something that I believe most of us do to show our love and preserve their memories. Of course, various cultures honor the dead differently, but the sentiment is essentially the same. However, certain days are specifically designated to celebrating the deceased such as Dia de los Muertos, the “Day of the dead”! However, what about those who’s family is not around anymore? Easy: friends can still honor the dead, the don’t have to honor just family members. If your really close to someone in life, I’m sure you would honor them in death either through memories or certain traditions. Well…Adelita doesn’t really have that as her parents are gone and due to her haunting antics, all of her former maids and butlers are gone; not to mention due to the reputation of the mansion, many people are keeping their distance. Well, one knuckle headed feline decided to honor Adelita…even though she initially tried to kill him. So, in a way, Adelita did make one “friend” after death, one that could really see through the malicious guise she presented. Wanting Adelita to be at rest, Orion set up this small altar to honor her, using information he could find through out the house. Though Adelita doesn’t truly know Orion, she more than appreciates the sentiment. As the sun sets and the dark of night approaches, Adelita enjoys a delectable sugar skull, ready to enjoy whatever the evening presents. This amazing pic was done by my good friend  a_blue_deer during his last commission opening, wanting to show off Adelita in a festive light, no need to dress up as well…she’s already a ghost so…
