A box on wheels...

Is it just me or are we going back to the box in design?

For small cars, for the moment, I think so. In Japan, the kei-car rules. In the rest of the world, almost everything small, from the BMW 1 Series to the Perodua Kelisa, is a bit of a box, with the curves being in the details. There's a few exceptions I can think of, Benz A-class, Ford Ka, so on.

Now that I thought about it, my 63 pontiac is technically a box on wheel, with a few curves to it.

There's one outfit that's gotten a tad creative, taking a "C" shaped cut out of the back so that the passenger side rear corner is solid glass or nearly so.

now that was a great car when it was built, and while i haven't driven one, I've heard it is still quite the little champ today, with regard to "fun-to-driveability"

I'd love to drive one. I drove a New Mini Cooper S Works, and while it had go-kart like handling, it also had the clutch out of a truck, (seriously, the heaviest clutch I have dealt with in a while), and the brakes were touchier than I liked.
