A new milestone has been reached~
Y'all probably by now noticed that the textures on the feet I've made, while very detailed and high resolution, have static, texture based wrinkles, waviness on the foot texture that never moves. I made sure to make it different from character to character, but they were always jus that... textures. That was just the only way I could think of doing it, any other way would be impractical or too intensive to use all the time... but that changed a few days ago.
Almost like a whisper from heaven itself, the idea of how I could possibly do dynamic wrinkles came out of nowhere, I just... thought about "hey, maybe I could try this idea" and... after a couple days of trial and error... I got it!
The new wrinkles are simulated with softbody physics, which is something I've been using before, but couldn't use in a high enough resolution for wrinkles... Now I can, and it's as simple as turning the effect on and pressing the play button for a couple seconds.
It might look a bit exaggerated in this render in specific, this was my first true render using the new tech. Since I've done some tweaking on the simulation to make it better looking~ This one render is pretty much a proof of concept... and yeah, every single feet I do can have this turned on. expect pokemons cuz you know, tiny lil paws are hard
This will company a update to the sole textures, I'll take away the texture wrinkles and substitute it with the same level of detail I've used on the male inkling render I posted not long ago.
I hope you'll enjoy it~
