This is the second of two 'pluggerisms' that I'd originally sent to Gary Brookins via postcard in September, 2009 - in the hope that one of them will appear in the daily comic "Pluggers" (the "audience participation strip")...
But when I'd learned that reader 'snail-mail' might not be accepted anymore, due to the fact that the Post Office (where Mr. Brookins gets all of his potential material) is on the government's list of possible closure, due to the Recession, I was quite livid.
Luckily, he still has an E-mail address for his loyal readers. And since I did take the liberty of photocopying my postcard art (prior to 'snail-mailing'), I simply scanned and colored each image, prior to sending them to Mr. Brookins over the Internet (just in case he never got my postcards at all).
This second of two offerings is based on my own RL experiences in hospitals. In the past, I was confined to a hospital bed for several days, twice: once in October, 2001 (following an angina attack) and again on Thanksgiving Day, 2008 (after having a mini-stroke... and I didn't even get to eat any turkey at all!). During my recovery period, I had access to a TV set, but rather than watch the news (which depressed me) or old reruns (which bored me), I saw a channel that relaxed me like none other (between its beautiful visual imagery and its tranquil music). This, of course, inspired me to draw the following picture - with its leonine character conveying the same thought I'd had during both of my hospital stays. See if you don't agree with me...
BTW, if you would like to send in a 'pluggerism' (with or without art) to Gary Brookins, the E-mail address is pluggermail[at]aol.com . Subject matter can be anything you want it to be (within G-rated limitations) - preferably in a positive vein - from cell phone and text-message device users, to saving the environment, to health care, to the 'obesity problem'. (No doubt, a number of you 'fat furry' artists will have a field day passing Mr. Brookins your offerings, RE: the latter topic!) Keep on pluggin'!

Is this a 'fish channel' as in "going fishing"? Or just watching fish as in a televised aquarium?
The stuff I saw from my hospital bed included images of deserts, mountains, rivers, occasional wildlife, slow-rising hot-air balloons, clouds, sunrises and sunsets. In short, anything that can make me feel relaxed, just short of taking morphine!
