Thistle very quickly learn that letter were almost useless for sending info quickly at night, as many pinata were not nocturnal. Originally fireflies were not nocturnal on the island. So after some many many egg testing, Thistle created the first group of fireflies to be awake at night and to send message. Most were infertile to reproduce on their own, but one was able to reproduce asexually and had one egg, before dying. The egg hatched in quadruplets. After testing these children were also unable to reproduce. However raised by Thistle himself became highly loyal to him and were entrusted with sending warning signals thought the night.

Only special people near Thistle, and Thistle himself, know what the codes say. Skeptics say they mean yes, no, danger, and safe. However other believe it more complex that it's a new language in of itself. Saying a lot more then what normal people thought.

Each FireCode member has a name contrasting with their color of fire.

Lithium is the red one with the eye patch. They lost that eye to a fight with a roughen.

Calcium is the orange one with the spike collar.

Sodium is the bright yellow one with the three bracelets.

And Copper is the blue one with the fake toy winded up key.

Everyone bought an accessory to make Lithium feel better that they lost their eye.
